Investment growth of SEZ Technopolis Moscow tenants has exceded 1 billion rubles in half a year

Total amount of investment of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow tenants in the first half of 2018 grew by more than 1 billion rubles compared to the same period in 2017, amounting to more than 16 billion rubles, reports the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship PR service.

“SEZ tenant investment has grown by more than a billion rubles for half a year. It shows that the tenants have been provided with extremely favorable conditions”, - says Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina.

She also noted an increase in foreign investment into the SEZ, which in half a year grew by more than 180 million rubles. She believes a 50% foreign investment growth compared to 2017 is to be expected by the end of the year.

Tax incentives

The tenants of SEZ Technopolis Moscow agree that SEZ advantages create significant opportunities for business development. “Reduced insurance fees and tax incentives as well as co-funding of the utility network allow the tenants to invest more into project development”, says Director of Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center Anatoly Kovalev.

Head of Academy-T Enver Tokayev demonstrates the example of his company which has increased its income by 47% by the end of the year. “By joining the SEZ we have considerably decreased the expenses for building industrial infrastructure and acquired tax incentives. We are also provided with consultancy support and up-to-date information on subsidies”, - he explained.

Apart from tax incentives, the tenants also mention another important advantage of the SEZ, which is opportunities for making productive contacts. “The companies located at the same place communicate faster and easier, and also have more opportunities to come up with new competitive products and ideas. The SEZ provides us with these opportunities”, - said Radius Group CEO Dmitry Marinichev.

His opinion was supported by Kovalev, who specifically mentioned the MIET site in Zelenograd where ZNTC production is located. “The companies complement each other in terms of projects, exchange products and developments, and utilize the opportunities for cooperation within a single site”, - he said.
